raceme

A flower cluster with the separate flowers attached by short equal stalks at equal distances along a central stem.

ray flowers

A composite flower (e.g. daisy) is made up of a petal-like ray flowers encircling a round area of disk flowers.

rayless

A composite flower (e.g. daisy) lacking the surround of petal-like ray flowers - i.e. a flower composed of only disk flowers.

reflexed

Petals, sepals, leaf-veins, or other parts, bent abruptly backward from where they originate.

reniform

Having the general shape of a long oval indented at one side; shaped like a kidney.

revolute

Margins (e.g. of a leaf) rolled backwards and downwards.

rhizome

A horizontal, usually underground stem that often sends out roots, leaves, and vegetative shoots from its nodes.
