This magnificent illustrated book provides insights into the spellbinding variety of color in Oriental and Mediterranean gardens.  Charlotte Seeling transports the reader into a blossoming Morocco, where in addition to gardens like those out of Thousand and One Nights, she describes a prince's pleasure garden and its olive-tree allée, planted more than 200 years ago.  Expressive and intoxicating images as well as detailed garden plans allow readers to immerse themselves in a different and fascinating world, and inspire them to daydream.  An informative appendix lists all the important facts for traveling, including addresses and opening times of the various hotel gardens and parks.

Charlotte Seeling began her career working as a freelance writer for various German magazines including Quick, Stern and Geo.  As a journalist she traveled throughout the world.  Because of the quality of her work and her reputation for sensitivity, she had the privilege to interview some of the less extrovert public figures like Indira Gandhi (Prime Minister of India, 1966-77 and 1980-84), Federico Fellini (Italian writer/director), Patricia Highsmith (author of The Talented Mr Ripley) and Giorgio Armani (fashion designer).  At the beginning of the 1980s she became editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan followed by Vogue, then Marie Claire and finally the French Marie Claire in Paris.  Since the mid 1990s she has been focusing her talents on writing, but still acts as an advisor for book and magazine projects.

Corinne Korda has always had an eye for beauty.  While studying to become an actress, she started taking photos of her colleagues and models, originally only for the sets, later for magazines and books.  Her themes also include photos of flowers, gardens and interior design.  Moroccan Gardens is her third book on gardens.
